ART: “Nature Totems” (oil on canvas) by Timothy Parish
The idea that gave birth to You follows us all throughout our riverine currency, dances within whirlpool and waterfall, carried upon raindrop and thunderstorm pregnant with electric promise of flash floods upon the wordless city of experience.
The womb that sheltered Her lives deep beneath our earthen soil mountainous, hiding in caverns and canyons, the living dirt and dusted tombs filled with treasures undiscovered by the plundering of philosophical pirates who stole meaning and left the absence of mystery in their shipwreck’s wake.
The seed that planted Him is carried upon your skyward messenger, surfing oceans of oxygen, windmills catching the cyclonic spirit cocktail. Potent as the tadpole metaphor, the chrysalis and cocoon. Passionate as the tongue tasting scent
of pheromone under midnight’s forever on heat.
The dream that calls Us forward reaches across the eon of blood and bone, breaks through the age of stone and wood and shatters the era of metal and circuitry. It whispers beyond radio telemetry, screams over the digital binary and heals the silence of extinction.
It is more than we can ever name and number.
It is less than every atom in the soup of flaming sun. .
It is what you never could be and all that you must become.
And it Loves you.
